Christian Baute

Most recently, Christian served as Vice President Productions & Acquisitions at Celluloid Dreams where he handled the development, financing and packaging of all Celluloid Dreams productions. At Celluloid Dreams, Baute was responsible for producing and executive producing films including Son of Rambow, Funny Games U.S., 2007 Berlin Silver Bear El Otro, Cannes Jury Prize winner The Mourning Forest, Young Yakuza, and The Countess. He co-produced Vincere, which premiered in competition in Cannes 2009, and Vision, which premiered in Telluride and Toronto 2009. He has also packaged various projects.

Prior to joining Celluloid Dreams, Baute served as President of Movimento Productions, Paris, where he produced over 60 documentaries, as well as features for both theatrical distribution and for television. His credits include Yves Saint Laurent 5 Avenue Marceau 75116 Paris, Alone with War, Kafka Goes to the Movies and Workers Leaving the Factory.

He served as Vice President of the Independent Producers Alliance of France (SPI) from 2004 to 2005, and was a member of CNC Commissions.

He is particularly experienced in the area of structuring finance packages for films, maintaining close contacts in EU and US banks and International Equity Funds.

Fluent in German, French and English, with a working knowledge of Italian, Baute was born in Bielefeld, Germany. He received his MA in Philosophy and Law at the Freie Universität Berlin.
